EMITE is proud to announce that the E400 MIMO Analyzer mode-stirred source-stirred reverberation chamber can now measure WLAN MIMO OTA TCP/UDP Throughput in a fully automated manner. The new module is now fully integrated into the EMITE MIMO Graphic User Interface test software, and has been developed in co-operation with NTT DoCoMo.

EMITE and Rohde & Schwarz have announced in a press release the first integrated OTA test platform worldwide to cover LTE-A with carrier aggregation (CA) and 2x2 MIMO. Rohde & Schwarz CMW500 base station emulator and EMITE E400 mode-stirred reverberation chamber have been integrated to provide an unheard-of flexibility for a winning solution. Again, EMITE has moved a step forward and has offered a unique solution in the MIMO OTA test arena.

EMITE announces the statement of carriers in favor of using mode-stirred reverberation chambers for LTE MIMO OTA assessment. Telefonica, Orange, NTT DoCoMo, KT, SoftBank Mobile and SK Telecom stated at the 3GPP meeting in Fukuoka, Japan, that

"Based on the analysis provided in this contribution, it is concluded that the test condition based on 3D isotropic channel models (described in Annex C of [1]) is representative of realistic use case and is relevant and useful for MIMO OTA performance evaluation and should therefore be included as normative part of the TR [1]. This would allow to progress on the finalization of the reverberation chamber test method in the ongoing MIMO OTA work item.

This represents an unheard-off support for reverberation chamber standardization as no other test method has obtained this level of support.

EMITE has releases the automated WiFi MIMO OTA module within E400 mode-stirred reverberation chamber, and has served the first two products already. The module provides unique automated WiFi MIMO OTA TCP and UDP throughput versus averaged received power (ARP) for IEEE802.11abgn UEs and APs, and does not require any human intervention throughout the measurement or any external eNodeB at all. The module represents a unique breakthrough in the MIMO OTA test arena, as recognized by these first two customers.

EMITE has signed a distribution agreement in South Korea with ACT Tech. ACT Tech has in depth RF experience on MIMO OTA. Please see the "Contact us" section in EMITE web page for ACT Tech contact details.
