Anritsu and EMITE are proud to announce that the new Anritsu Wireless Connectivity Test Set MT8862A has been successfully used in combination to the EMITE E500 Reverberation Chamber to test OTA figures of merit for IEEE802.11ac/n/a/g/b devices. The tests were performed for a top5 OEM. With built-in communications protocols, the MT8862A measures the performance of the WLAN devices in the actual operating state, and is the first test equipment of its kind to support all IEEE802.11ac/n/a/g/b standards. The new integration has been able to successfully measure TRP and TIS in signaling mode for IEEE802.11ac devices for the first time worldwide.

EMITE releases the PT Series Small 8-antenna Reverberation Chamber, a one-of-its-own small-footprint chamber capable of simultaneously testing 4 DUTs and ideally suited for WLAN (2.4 and 5 GHz), Bluetooth, IoT and Production Testing (non-signaling).

AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint have agreed to develop a TM2 OTA test, to be performed in a noise-limited OTA environment, which will be a replacement for SISO TIS. A reverberation chamber solution has been agreed for these tests, while its anechoic-chamber based alternative will be either the multi-cluster, single-cluster, or RTS method, something which is yet to be decided. After a careful analysis, operators at CTIA have agreed to add these UE noise-limited OTA tests for TM2 using Reverberation Chambers as a good complement to the existing SIR TM3 OTA tests using the anechoic-chamber based MPAC solution for a complete assessment of the UE RF performance. Both UMi and UMa channel models will be used in the new TM2 tests. This agreement will be communicated to GCF in a liaison statement at the upcoming January 2017 GCF meeting. EMITE congratulates CTIA for this wise decision which will make Reverberation Chambers even more versatile worldwide.

With the presence of Spanish National Secretary of State for Innovation and Technology Transfer, the National CincoDías 2016 Innovation Awards were granted yesterday at the Repsol Auditorium in Madrid, Spain, and EMITE received the award on the University-participated entrepreneurship category. “Just like a passport is not a person, an ebitda financial result is not a company, but the talent, will and braveness of the people at the company are”, said David A. Sanchez-Hernandez, CEO of EMITE at the receiving ceremony. The award was also collected by Alejandro Perez-Pastor, ViceChancellor for Innovation and Technology Transfer at the Technical University of Carthagene, in Spain.
